Frequently asked questions

Does ShieldLabs block fraud automatically?
No. ShieldLabs returns a risk score with full details on which signals fired. Your code decides what to do with each score. Scoring instead of blocking is deliberate: it lets your team set thresholds that match your own risk appetite and keep every decision explainable, rather than handing it to a system you can't see inside.
Is ShieldLabs a KYC or identity verification tool?
No. ShieldLabs reads technical signals from the browser, device, and network. It does not collect names, government IDs, or personal documents. If you need identity verification or AML screening, a dedicated KYC provider is the right tool. ShieldLabs sits next to it as the fraud-signal layer.
Is ShieldLabs SOC2 or GDPR certified?
Not yet. Certifications are on our roadmap, not complete. ShieldLabs does not store personal data, no names, emails, or payment details, only technical signals and IP. If your compliance review requires SOC2 or ISO on day one, ShieldLabs isn't the right fit today.
